The process technician roles are suited for someone with a BS in relevant fields such as physics or electrical engineering. These individuals will work with the rest of our team producing thermophotovoltaic devices.
The device engineer role is intended for someone with a PhD level of experience. We seek someone possessing a background in device design & testing. This would include familiarity with software such as TCAD. Experience with processes such as MBE or MOCVD would be great as well.

Requirements
- Candidates will start May 2026, are required to work through summer, and are expected to continue through the following school year. This is a multi-year position.
- A minimum of 19 hours per week is required over the summer, and a minimum of 5 hours per week is required during the school year.
- Candidates must be 18 or older by the start date, as they will be stocking and handling chemicals for the cleanroom.
- Detail-oriented and safety minded
- Experience in following detailed instructions consistently
- Conducting work independently with minimal supervision upon completion of training
- Strong verbal, written and electronic communication skills with a demonstrated ability to complete detailed record-keeping and provide technical reporting on a regular basis
- General document management skills and experience (Microsoft Office or similar)
Desired Qualifications
- Competency in chemical and cryogenic material handling or equivalent educational experience (e.g. completion of general chemistry or similar courses)
- Experience working in a laboratory setting
- Experience handling and working with hazardous chemicals and processes
- Experience with project management and directing others
